As the world battles against malnutrition, scarcity, and the growing rate of resource depletion, we wished to come up with a way to enhance food production while leaving a minimal to no ecological footprint.

How did Zunsol come to be?

Two saying changed the way Founder and CEO Sean O’Hara viewed life;

The purpose behind the establishment of our lateral farming method focuses on sustainability, and a dream. A dream where no one goes hungry, food ridden illnesses and poor government spending (ie: corn subsidies) we see in our society today become a distant memory. Zunsol is committed to bringing about a solution.

Zunsol is thus a way to break free from labels of ‘dependency’ that plague our agriculture world today. We plan to do this by becoming self sufficient and manifesting a healthy and environmentally friendly venture. With heart, money(sadly we all must accept this is a requirement in today’s world), perspiration, and long working hours, Zunsol will play it’s part in giving back to the society.

The New-Age Greenhouse

The greenhouse is an amalgamation of the wonders of Aquaculture and Hydroponics, combining the two to create a magical mix of sustainable and nutrient-rich crop production. As a better way of organic farming, our greenhouse will stray far from the use of chemicals. Instead, the only outside input will be fish food. The nutrient-rich waste of aquatic life will then be used in compost to enrich our system with all the beneficial bacteria and “stuffs” a plant could ask for.

So Why Zunsol?

The All-Natural Way of Crop Growth

No chemicals, no fertilizers (just the naturally accruing ones!), no harmful hormones; our crop production will be truly natural albeit in a man-made environment.

Prevent Soil-Borne Diseases

By using nutrient-rich water to grow the plants, we stray far from soil to facilitate our hydroponics. This way, we are able to prevent the risk of soil-borne diseases such as Fusarium, Pythium, and various other fungi.

More Food, Less Inputs!

The traditional method of crop production requires an abundance of products. From seeds to constant watering, fertilizers, herbicides, and more; the Greenhouse doesn’t demand anything of such extent. With substantially less water usage, it is thought that with an Aquaponics Greenhouse, about 8 times more food can be grown per acre with only 1/8 the water usage, as compared to the usual way of crop production.

Minimal Waste

As people everywhere continue to use up water, land, and several other forms of resources in farming; there is a lot being wasted.

Zunsol does not stand for wastage, and neither does our greenhouse. With reuse of fish wastewater, we hope to churn the cycle of nature with virtually no waste.

Produce Anything You Want - All Year Round!

There are many veggies that are only available some days of the year. With our greenhouse, we can produce any crop as long as we create the right indoor environment for it.

At Zunsol, we strive to produce enough crops that we can sustain ourselves and give the excess to the community – for shared benefits and a sense of community.

Our Natural, Beneficial Produce

The all mighty question; what will be grown in the New-Age Greenhouse?

Our current plan includes 4 main products as our company grows:

Microgreens:

As vegetable greens, microgreens are harvested somewhere between the time that the crop is a baby green to a sprout. Full of vitamins (e.g. Vitamin E, K, and C) as well as fiber and antioxidant properties; microgreens are power packed with nutrients and energy.

From Red Cabbage to Broccoli, Cabbage, and more, we intend to produce microgreens along with other select produce.

Nutrient-Rich Waters/Fertilizer:

While we produce hydroponic crops, our product range of nutrient-rich water from our bio-composter is mixed in the system. We hope to produce emcee so that we might give those with the love for gardening, the ability to produce their own veggies at home. This all natural nutrient rich fertilizer could revolutionize our ever fast detreating soil and breathe life where once was thought to be impossible - what can we say we like to dream big, but someone has to.

Duckweed/Algae:

Duckweed and Algae, a prime supplement for poultry, cattle, and other rearing animal. the duckweed contains important minerals. Duckweed’s protein has even been sheen to reduce methane gas (from cow burps - that is right! Cows do to NOT fart like you and me!).

Seafood

With so much water flowing through the system Zunsol intends to fill another gap in the industry; truly locally sourced, and true organically feed seafood. Zunsol plans to test with various forms of aquatic life that can not only be sold but be humanly raised to a proper term. The inclusion of seafood allows us to mimic our greatest model when it comes to modern day farming - Earth.

* Though Zunsol will offer many diverse products, in the beginning we aim to keep Microgreens as our main product due to size limitations of the very first prototype. We strongly believe commercial variations can be adapted to most, if not all forms of farming.

Giving Back To The Society

Made for the people and via our supporters, by the people. I can assure you as CEO of Zunsol that we do not focus on high profits for the higher-ups. Instead, the key to sustainability and healthy living is by sharing our gains with the world, and that is exactly what we aim to do. Focused on profit-sharing, and taking this greenhouse as a community initiative, we hope to create change that lasts today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
